Dr. Bruce Stewart, graduate director for the Department of History, will host an information session for anyone considering graduate study in history on Wednesday Oct. 15, 2025, at 4 p.m. in Anne Belk Hall Room 233.

Dr. Stewart will cover key aspects of the application process, including how to research programs, what admissions committees look for, how to write an effective personal statement, and how to request strong letters of recommendation. He will also highlight specifics about App State’s History graduate program and touch on the wide range of careers a graduate degree in history can help launch.

This session is especially geared toward junior and senior History majors, but all interested students are welcome. There will be time for questions and informal discussion.
