DESCRIPTION:We all have a story to tell\, but stories of the journeys that 
 brought international faculty\, staff\, and students to Appalachian will i
 nclude nuances and complexities that make their stories unique from those 
 of their American peers. Capturing stories in writing and sharing them wit
 h others can connect generations\, build community\, bridge diversity\, pr
 omote self-reflection and understanding\, and enhance personal satisfactio
 n as the writer integrates the most meaningful moments of their life’s j
 ourney into their present self and their goals for the future. Using the m
 ethods of guided autobiography\, participants in this structured writing w
 orkshop will explore through reflection and writing the meaningful events 
 that led them to App State. Those who are comfortable doing so will be inv
 ited to share their stories in the oral tradition with the group. The fina
 l 30 minutes of the workshop will take the form of additional quiet writin
 g time for those who would like to continue.\n\nSpace is limited to 15.\n\
